Kendall Jackson Chardonnay Vintner's Reserve is a blend of Chardonnay grapes grown in multiple regions along California's cooler, Western coast, providing a balanced blend of citrus notes and tropical aromas. In addition to the typical nose of pineapple, lime, and mango, this Chardonnay also includes richer notes of papaya, honey, vanilla, and toast from the five month American and French oak aging, as well as the sur lie aging and monthly battonage.
A balanced Chardonnay such as this with a lingering finish pairs excellently with dairy based foods and rich seafood dishes such as cheeses, Alfredo sauces, lobster, langoustine, buttered scampi, or a fish risotto. This wine has undergone whole cluster pressing, meaning that the slight bitterness of the stems linger with the creaminess in this balanced wine to cut through heartier dishes, typically more difficult to pair wine with.
